Maintaining indoor relative humidity levels within the 40%–60% "sweet spot" helps us fight respiratory viral illnesses such as COVID-19. Research studies clearly show us that keeping indoor humidity in this range through humidification is extremely effective in protecting our health. This humidity sweet spot is beneficial for three important reasons. First, it decreases the number of infectious pathogens in the air, second, it inactivates viruses in the air and on surfaces, and thirdly it bolsters our immune system. This is always important, but more now than ever.
